Effective date: August 5, 2026

Last updated: August 5, 2026

.

1. Overview

Vidrick AI Transcriber (“Vidrick,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is Windows desktop software designed to transcribe supported audio and video files using processing performed on the user’s computer.

2. Local processing

Vidrick is designed so that transcription, speaker processing, conversation reconstruction, summaries, action items, and exports are performed locally on the user’s computer.

Vidrick does not automatically upload the user’s audio files, video files, recordings, transcripts, summaries, action items, or exported documents to Vidrick servers.

3. Internet connections made by the application

Vidrick may connect to the internet to:

  • check a release manifest for application updates;
  • download an installer selected by the user;
  • verify the downloaded installer using a SHA-256 hash;
  • download optional transcription or speaker-processing models;
  • validate a subscription or license after commercial licensing is enabled;
  • open support, purchase, privacy, or legal pages selected by the user.

An update request may disclose ordinary technical information generated by internet communications, including IP address, request time, application version, and user-agent information. Update requests are not intended to contain recordings, transcripts, summaries, or exported documents.

4. Diagnostics

Vidrick may create diagnostic files locally on the user’s computer. Those files are not automatically transmitted to Vidrick. A user may choose to send diagnostic information when requesting support. Diagnostic information may contain system details, application logs, error messages, configuration details, and file paths. Users should review diagnostic files before sharing them.

5. Website, account, payment, and licensing information

When website accounts, subscriptions, or licensing are introduced, Vidrick and its service providers may process:

  • name and email address;
  • account and subscription identifiers;
  • plan, payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund status;
  • license key or entitlement identifier;
  • registered device identifiers and activation history;
  • support communications;
  • fraud-prevention and security logs.

Payment-card information should be collected and processed directly by the selected payment provider. Vidrick does not intend to store complete payment-card numbers.

The final version of this policy must identify every production provider used for hosting, payments, licensing, analytics, email, support, and error reporting.

6. Purposes

Information may be used to provide software downloads and updates, validate subscriptions and licenses, manage device activations, operate customer accounts, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, secure the service, comply with law, and enforce agreements.

7. Retention

and will reflect operational, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, and legal requirements.

8. Sharing

Vidrick may share limited information with service providers that perform hosting, payment processing, licensing, email delivery, customer support, security, fraud prevention, and related services. Vidrick does not sell users’ recordings or transcript content.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights and safety, in connection with a business transfer, or with the user’s direction or consent.

9. Security

Vidrick uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information processed. No software or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

10. User rights and choices

Depending on location, users may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information. Requests may be sent to privacy@vidrick.ai. Identity verification may be required. Some records may be retained when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, disputes, or accounting.

11. Recording and transcription responsibility

Users are responsible for obtaining all legally required permission to record, transcribe, process, retain, and share communications. Recording-consent laws vary by jurisdiction.

12. Children

Vidrick is not directed to children under 13, and paid accounts should be offered only to persons legally able to enter a binding contract or with appropriate parental or organizational authorization.

13. International use

Vidrick may be used in multiple jurisdictions. Before international commercial launch, this policy should be updated to address the business location, intended sales regions, international transfers, and region-specific rights.

14. Changes

We may revise this policy. The updated version will display a revised effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website, application, or account email.
